Designed Stories
The organizational culture is made of stories. The stories that are happening in the organization shape the collective understanding and feelings of the people towards things in the context. The code of the organizational culture has been formed up as a system dynamics throughout the history of the organization, this history was made of stories, actions, and responses in different situations, until it has become the systematic response of the typical employee in the company. The organizational culture is unique because each organization has its unique history. The company culture estimates the employees’ perceived value of the company decisions, products, services, procedures, and all other elements in the overall value chain.
The designed stories is an effective and realistic approach to reshape the organizational culture through real situations that take place in daily practices. The design of the stories is a sort of perception management that relies on the organizational culture assessment as an analysis of the current level of performance. The idea is to change the normal response to different situations to well-designed responses that correct the company culture towards the gaps and opportunities that appeared in the report. The designed part of the story is about the right response to correct the perception and the feeling through more appropriate behavioral response. The shift from an assumption that came from previous experience to a more accurate understanding and a clearly perceived value.
